There has been no other film in recent memory that has captured the true essence of what it really takes to be a DJ. I will be watching this for many years to come.

Like a little slice of life in Brooklyn, he guides the viewer down the streets...in an authentic and raw style that feels honest, mostly made possible because of Starkman’s eye for detail and craftsmanship.

Wheels is a quiet movie about the values of family and the place of the individual in that system. Starkman pays attention to this in his shot selection, editing pattern, transition choices, blockings, depiction of violence, and sound effects.

Clocking it at only an hour and twenty minutes, WHEELS provides a well-paced slice of life of its protagonist, introducing us to a rich assortment of characters in its relatively short runtime.

A sensitive portrayal of an artist's struggle to survive and thrive.

Come for the energetic music, stay for the stunning imagery. A winning combination.

Starkman’s Wheels captures the ups and down of musical youth with great style, and it’s the kind of on-point indie effort that really deserves a big audience.

Wheels‘ story and message is communicated mostly by a quality screenplay from Starkman and some very solid acting from the film’s cast. Starkman makes sure that his dialogue never gets too wordy, preachy, or unnatural while allowing the performances to really make Wheels come to life.

For an indie and a feature film directorial debut it is well shot and put together and certainly something I would recommend.
